Support Chief Imam’s education fund – Upper West Regional minister

Dr. Hafiz Bin-Salih, the Upper West Regional Minister has called for support for the Regional Chief Imam’s Educational Endowment Fund.

This was after some members of the Regional Chief Imam’s ‘Needy But Brilliant Fund’ board members paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Accra. 

Alhaji Osman Kanihi needy but brilliant students fund is geared towards financing students of the Muslim community, who are from poor backgrounds but very intelligent. It is established to ensure poverty is alleviated in the region through education. 

The Hon. Minister sated that “some members of the board of the yet-to-be-launched Upper West Regional Chief Imam Educational Endowment Fund visited me in my office. They informed me of the establishment and registration of the fund. The fund is the initiative of the Regional Chief Imam. It is aimed at providing support for needy but brilliant students to further their studies at the tertiary level”. 

The fund according to the board members, the Regional Chief Imam, intends to launch it in October this year 2022.

 Dr. Hafiz Bin-Salih, explained that the establishment of the fund was in the right direction and certainly what the Region needs to breach the education gap in the country.

He concluded by calling on people from the Region and philanthropists to contribute to the fund.

“It is an initiative that I fully support and I will certainly contribute to its sustenance. I, therefore, call on all well-meaning Ghanaians to contribute to the establishment and sustainability of this laudable initiative of the Upper West Regional Chief Imam. Mr. Abdul-Rahman Marcus, Secretary to the board spoke on their behalf. May Allah be our guide,” he said.
