The road which serves as the main link between the two neighbouring communities in the municipality has been a source of daily worry and a constant headache for inhabitants of the communities and others who visit the two communities. But that worry and headache have now but almost become a flash of history following the benevolent intervention of Mr Senafiawo. It should be noted that this is not the first time he is doing it though as he has previously done some work on it to put the road in good shape for the community.

Travelling on the road even in the dry season has not always been easy as commuters bump in and out of the potholes that compete in size with manholes. So facing the prospects of heavy rains this season was scarier than before as the road had now deteriorated beyond normal. Portions of it could simply pass for a stream on any day by a stranger to the community.

Mr Senafiawo who is sponsoring the entire project and was busy at the construction site monitoring the progress of work has by this act provided hope for the numerous patrons of the road. They can now dream of not having to live the horrible experience of using the road when work is finally completed in two weeks time.

Speaking to the media at the construction site, Mr Senafiawo said he has observed how difficult it is to access the road mostly especially during the rainy season and as part of his corporate social responsibility, he decided to offer a helping hand. He emphasized that though it is government’s duty to provide social infrastructure for the people, it does not stop citizens from helping the government in that regard and he is doing just that: helping as much as he can.

He appealed to others who are privileged to be in better positions and can help their communities to not wait for anything but get out there and help as much as they can. He added that if you are in a community and they accept you as being part of it, it should not be a hard task for you to do something for the community as a form of appreciation for them accepting you as a member of the community. He entreated Ghanaians to join in the fixing of the country.

Community members expressed their delight and appreciation for the stress-relieving project. Mr Yaw Yeboah, a resident of the community explained that the project is a massive relief for them. He said whenever it rained, the road becomes unmotorable and no one can cross from either side of the community and as a result their children compulsorily absent from school anytime it rains. Their wives and other traders cannot use the road to go to market and those were just some of the challenges they faced with the deplorable nature of the road now turned stream.

Mr Yaw Yeboah was not the only one as students from the area also expressed relief amidst thanks and well wishes for the project sponsor that the road is finally being fixed.

Daniel Nii Oshu Quansah, an elder of the Oshuiman stool thanked Mr Senafiawo who is the Director of Pure City International School at Ga-Odumase for the efforts and prayed that God will bless him. He also appealed to others to join hands and help the community as Mr Senafiawo alone cannot meet all the needs of the community.

As Ghanaians continue to call on the government to fix the country, some citizens are taking the lead in heralding the journey to the Fixed Country, Ghana and Mr Senafiawo is leading the charge in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. And as for the people of Ga-Odumase and Oshuiman, the fixing of their communities has begun and it is not the government nor politicians but a beloved citizen and their prayers are for him and with him.
