Dr Vladimir Antwi Danso, Dean of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, during an interview on TV3 regarding the resurfacing of Aisha Huang pointed out the brazen way with which the notorious illegal miner found her way back into the country after her deportation shows her clear disregard for Ghana’s laws.

For him, this is an opportunity for Ghanaian authorities to mete out punitive actions against her to serve as a deterrent to other foreign nationals not to take the country’s set laws for granted.

Mr Antwi Danso also indicated that as diplomatic rules stipulate about her as she was deported she is a “Persona non grata” per Ghana’s laws and could only return at the request of authorities.

He said, “She treated us with this kind of disdain, we should let all foreigners know that we are a country to be respected”.

According to information gathered she entered the country bearing a different name and subsequently applied for a Togo visa and used its borders into Ghana to continue mining illegally.

Currently, she is being charged for engaging in the sale and purchases of minerals without a license, as well as mining without a license along side three accomplices namely, Jong Li Huang, Huang Jei and Huiad Hua but they all pleaded not guilty in court to the charges levelled against them.

She and the other three suspects were then remanded by the Accra Circuit Court while the case is being investigated.
