The current situation of residents of Nkranchy; a small community in the Berekum East Municipality in the newly created Bono Region is one of such cases that tells Ghana’s situation.
They are pleading with the government to come to their aid over a big hole that has been created in the community.
In an interview, some residents of the community revealed that there is a road which links Nkranchy to Berekum Thursday market. And because of the hole that has been created on the road, they are always forced to use it regardless of the dangers thus creating difficulties and posing danger to them since they have no option as at now.
Another resident added that their roads are now a death trap and pleaded that a small bridge should be constructed for them.
Students and children in the community recounted their daily ordeal and also called on the authorities to come to their aid.
An officer also advised Moto riders and residents to be in their safety gears like helmet and boots to protect themselves and work on their hearts and minds each time they are on the roads since the police cannot be on the road all the time to ensure the safety of the road users. He added that residents should take their own precautions to prevent avoidable deaths .
