Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama is daring counsels to the respondents in the Election Petition to subpoena the petitioner

He indicates that unlike Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jane Mensa who is running away from been cross examined in the dock, John Mahama is fearless.

“I will be very glad…someone like John Mahama is fearless. He does not run away from debates, he is not someone who shies away from intellectual exercise. It is not legally not tenable that you will be out there making these pedestrian claims. Who says he is afraid? Bring him and see what he will do to your case”, he dared on Accra-based Okay Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

The Private Legal Practitioner and member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) legal team described threats to haul Mahama into the dock to also answer questions as a joke and legally untenable.

“I have heard a joke on social media that if we subpoena Jane Mensa they will also subpoena John Dramani Mahama. This is definitely a view expressed by someone who does not go to court. If you are a serious practitioner of the law, you will know that this is not tenable. You have made up your mind of not even opening your case. It is not that you opened your case and want that person to come and testify as an adverse witness. Usually when you subpoena someone, that person becomes your witness. That is why when you subpoena someone, lawyers are careful to treat the person as a hostile witness…the rules on hostile witness or adverse witness is very clear. In this case you have not presented a single witness, you have refused to open your case so where lies the issue of I will subpoena”, he quizzed.
