Government arranging to bring back over 400 stranded Ghanaians from the UAE
The Foreign Affairs and Social Integration Ministry has revealed it is liaising with United Arab Emirate officials to come to the aid of about 431 stranded Ghanaians in the UAE to bring them back home.
According to the Ministry, the Ghanaians found themselves in this situation due to the activities of an unscrupulous agent who came under the guise of giving them jobs.
Upon the victim’s arrival in the country, they get abandoned and left to their fate in a foreign land and unfortunately get apprehended by authorities there.
The Ministry, therefore, advised that this situation should serve as a learning curve for others to use the appropriate means to travel to the UAE.
Though the victims went through their own means, the Ministry has plans underway with UAE authorities to bring them back home.
It again cautioned Ghanaians to be careful not to end up being victims of unscrupulous agents in the gulf region.
