Give me Huang En’s case docket – Attorney General wants galamsey queen prosecuted
Demand has been by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame to the police for the docket of En Huang also referred to as Aisha Huang.
This is to enable him to ensure that she is prosecuted for her current crimes which are destroying Ghana’s vegetation and the initial ones she did in 2018 that led to her deportation.
Ghanaians were left in utter shock and surprised that she was able to manoeuvre her way back into country and engage in the same crime of illegal mining after she was deported for the same acts four years ago.
Her initial deportation was justified by former Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo who said her imprisonment could not help Ghana’s chances of getting some aid from China.
According to reports available, Aisha Huang found her way back to Ghana through the Togo border.
Meanwhile, officials at the Ghana-Togo border to the East and Elubo to the West are saying she used the unapproved routes.
“She may have used unapproved routes which stretch from Aflao to northern Togo, but nothing shows in our system that she used our official land borders,” a source said.
As it stands now, she has been charged for mining without the required license and also buying and selling minerals without a license.
Though her case has been adjourned to 14th September, Detective Chief Inspector Frederick Sarpong called on the judge to remand Aisha and her three accomplices as the probe is still ongoing.
