Ghana importing Cassava is proof Akufo-Addo has failed – Kofi Koranteng
Presidential hopeful for Ghana’s 2024, Mr Kofi Koranteng has reiterated that the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has failed the people of Ghana the fact that now imports Cassava.
According to Mr Kofi Koranteng, the government of the day can not use the Russia – Ukraine war or Covid-19 as an excuse because Ghana is not and was not the only country affected by these external factors. He decried the increasing rate at which Ghana is import-driven with the government not doing anything about it to eradicate the canker.
He said “importing Cassava is totally inexcusable because for any excuse, as far as the production of Cassava is concerned, we can produce all here. cassava alone can give us a foreign exchange reserve. It makes sense to import things that are cheaper, American does the same because of expensive labour, but labour is cheap in Ghana so what is the reason for importing cassava from someone’s country? Why not use cheap labour to produce things that we don’t have? There is no sense In importing Cassava”.
Speaking on the Active Morning Show on Monday, August 22, the 2024 presidential hopeful called on Ghanaians to do the needful by voting out the current Nana Addo-led administration. He promised to change Ghana into one of the self-dependent countries in the world.
