Mr Kofi Koranteng, presidential hopeful for Ghana’s 2024 election has stated that building a Cathedral is not a sign of enlightenment while describing president Nana Akufo-Addo as a president who is not enlightened on how to make things work in the country.

The presidential hopeful who was on the Active Morning Show on Monday, August 22, stated that “sitting in SUV, building a Cathedral doesn’t prove we are enlightened”.

He called on Christians in Ghana to raise up and hold the government accountable. “Christian community must tell the government things are not working in the country, the Muslim community and Traditional Chiefs must all tell the government things are just not working, people are suffering in this country and that’s very hurtful,” he said.

Speaking about unemployment, he noted that the unemployment rate in the country is not 14% as the government wants Ghanaians to believe. He added that “people are paid 150 – 400 cedis a month in Ghana and how can they survive on such amount, even before you become satisfied with ‘Gob3’ (Gari and beans with plantain) you must spend at least 13 cedis”.

However, he outlined some of the policy interventions his future government will do to solve the mess Ghana is in today.

“We will invest ten (10) billion dollars into agriculture that won’t be hole and cutlass farming but drone mechanized farming that will delve into logistics, security, biology; there are a lot of different areas under farming that will be executed”.
