GES sacks 11 officers for examination malpractice
The appointment of 11 officers has been terminated by the Ghana Education Service in relation to issues regarding the 2020 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
“Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) refers to a report from the West African Examination Council (WAEC) on alleged exams malpractice by some officers of Ghana Education Service (GES) during the WASSCE and BECE, 2020,” the letter disclosed.
In a letter dated 24th September 2021, the GES indicated that the officers involved were invited and appeared before a committee at the headquarters of the GES for the hearing of the allegation of examination malpractice levelled against them. They admitted their guilt at the hearing.
“During the hearing, they admitted the act contrary to Section 3.32(III) of the Code of Conduct for staff of Ghana Education Service.”
