Executive director for education think tank Africa Education Watch Mr Kofi Asare has revealed that his organization has written to the Criminal Investigations Department to probe the issue of examination leakages in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.

The organizations intent to petition the CID was made known after West African Examination Council revealed that the Elective Mathematics 2  and Section A of the English Language papers integrity had been compromised but it was not extensive .

Another issue of intent to cheat in the examination hall on Wednesday September 15, 2021, prompted WAEC to reschedule the Physics and Business Management papers in a press conference.

Meanwhile executive director for the Africa Education Watch Kofi Asare had previously claimed that the Food and Nutrition practical paper had leaked but WAEC rebuffed the claims.

The examination body went ahead to threaten a legal suit against Africa Education Watch over a report it compiled on the 2020 WASSCE .

According to WAEC, Africa Education Watch’s report was full of inaccuracies and was misleading but the think tank’s report chronicled a number of irregularities witnessed during the examination period.

The 2020 WASSCE was characterized with some leaks of examination papers including confidential information on examiners. This prompted a report to the Cyber Crime Department of the Ghana Police Service by WAEC.
