Domelevo And Government Trade Further Blows
The immediate past Auditor General, Daniel Yao Domelevo has in a letter asked the Audit Service Board to direct Mr Johnson Akuamoah Asideu to handover to him. This is to enable him Mr Domelevo re-handover to Mr Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu as demanded by the Audit Service Board.
Mr Domelevo made the request in a reply to a letter from the Audit Service Board demanding he prepares a comprehensive handing over note and handover to the acting Auditor General who has been in the position for the last eight months.
In the letter dated 16th March, 2021 and addressed to Mr Domelevo, the Board demanded he prepares a comprehensive handing over note within two weeks of the receipt of the letter.

That prompted Mr Domelevo to make a quick reply in a letter dated today, 17th March, 2021. He in the letter reminded the Board that he was forced to prepare a handing over note in less than 24 hours after he received a letter on the 29th of June, 2020 directing him to proceed on compulsory leave. That directive, he said was against Section 27 of the Labour Act which requires that all workers be given at least a 30 day notice prior to the commencement of their leave.
Below is Domelevo’s reply
Mr Domelevo who was appointed Auditor General by President John Mahama in December 2016 was asked to proceed on his accumulated annual leave of 123 working days. The 123 days soon increased to 167 days after Domelevo replied the President’s leave directive.
Having served the leave period, Domelevo returned to Office on 3rd March. But on the evening of the same day, he received another letter directing him to proceed on retirement. It was claimed his records when he joined SSNIT on 25th October, 1978, showed he was born in 1960 and from Agbetofe, making him a Togolese. He made changes in 1993 which stated his date of birth as 1st June 1961 and his home town as Ada in the Greater Accra Region but that was of no use to the argument as he was forced into retirement.
