On audio and video, Dr Frederick Yao Mac Palm, the mastermind of the alleged coup attempt, is heard claiming that the National Communications Authority (NCA) would be rendered useless on “D-day.”

“Even if we have to bomb the whole Ministry for transmission to go off we would do that,” he emphasised

According to GNA, this was the point at which the High Court hearing the case played some of the recordings made by Staff Sergeant Sule Kwadwo Awarf, a prosecution star witness, during a series of meetings allegedly plotting the coup d’état.

Dr Mac Palm was saying that on the day of the coup, only the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation would be operational since the rest of the country would be shut down, and it would be there that Ghanaians would be informed of the coup.

Dr Mac Palm, Chief Executive Officer of the Citadel Hospital, Bright Alan Debrah, alias “BB,” freight forwarder, Sule, a soldier, and Donyo Kafui, alias Ezor, a blacksmith, were all present at the meeting, and Dr Mac Palm asked Ezor to provide a list of materials required for the manufacturing of the weapons, as well as the amount of money required.

Iron rods, cannon powder, caustic soda, and a hacksaw blade, according to Ezor.

That’s when BB chimed in, saying that Ezor should keep the costs down because Dr Mac Palm was the only one who could afford to fund the entire procedure.

“I don’t want to repress anyone, and I don’t cheat,” Dr Mac Palm remarked, explaining why he didn’t want to compel Ezor to do it. “You know how I work,” he said, emphasizing that “I don’t need anything, I can eat anything, and I have a place to sleep, but it’s for the future.”

How much should we offer you in order for you to be able to purchase the items? Finally, Mac Palm inquired. He added, “After this, we need to know the pricing of the Assault Rifle.”

Dr Mac Palm was unsure whether the operation would succeed, so he enquired of Sule, who told him that it would, provided there was enough money to recruit additional “boys” and that they needed to organize the hungry.

The gathering also discussed whether or not to bring in a fetish priest who would force participants to vow allegiance or die.

He [Mac Palm] mentioned that he was watching a guy he didn’t name because he [the guy] had stopped attending their meetings because “he knows you, he’s terrified of you,”- (addressing Sule), but that he [the guy] wasn’t a bad person, just lacked the bravery.

Sule was overheard acquiring Ezor’s contact information in order to pay him a visit while he was working on the weapons.

Later in the video, Mac Palm and Sule go to Ezor’s production workshop, which is a container.

Colonel Samuel Kojo Gameli, Johannes Zikpi, a signaler with the Ghana Armed Forces, Corporal Seidu Abubakar, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akankpewe, Corporal Ali Solomon, Warrant Officer II (WO2) Esther Saan, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo have all been charged along with Dr Mac-Palm, Ezor, and BB.

They are being tried by a three-panel judge consisting of Justices Hafisata Amaleboba, Stephen Oppong, and presided over by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe. They are charged with conspiracy, high treason, possession of firearms, explosives, and ammunition.
