4th August Founders day is an attempt to distort Nkrumah’s history – Bernard Mornah
Former chairman of the NPP, Bernard Mornah has accused Akufo-Addo of trying to distort Nkrumah’s history by instituting August 4 as Founders Day.
The founders day argument seems far from ending as former Chairman of the Peoples National Convention, Bernard Mornah has again brought it up.
According Mr Mornah, “Dr Kwame Nkrumah is the sole founder of our country’’.
He criticized President Akufo-Addo for corrupting founders day by adding , “people whose contribution to the fight for independence was suspicious”.
To him, Dr Kwame Nkrumah was a major fulcrum upon which this nation was birthed after he brought a revolutionary approach to the independence struggle.
He also questioned the essence of the 4th August founders day citing that in some part of what occurred on that day Dr Kwame Nkrumah was by then not in Ghana and he, therefore, saw it as a ploy to cut Dr Kwame Nkrumah from the actual history of the independence struggle of Ghana.
Mr Mornah also complained about how the two leading political parties when they assume the reigns of power failed to follow the industrialization vision of Dr Kwame Nkrumah hence the collapsing of the 413 industries Dr Kwame Nkrumah toiled to build for the country under their watch.
