3 arrested for allegedly killing a 30-year-old and attempting to sell his remains
Three suspects have been arrested by the Volta Regional Police Command in connection with the suspected murder of a 30-year-old man in the Volta Region.
Albert Anyinado was allegedly murdered by the suspects, who then attempted to sell his remains to a fetish priest.
The accused have been identified as Kalefe Korku, 42, Afedo Kpotor, 21, and Ametoke Sitsofe, 27 and were apprehended around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 10.
At a press conference, DSP Effia Tenge, the Public Affairs Officer for the Volta Regional Police Command, said the suspects informed a fetish priest in Agbozume that they had a body for sale, so he should assist them to get a buyer.
According to Graphic Online, the police were notified. The fetish priest and the cops pretended to be interested in the bargain and agreed to buy the body for GH7000.
The supposed buyer agreed to meet the sellers near the lagoon in Agavedzi to receive the body nut when the suspects saw the cops, they abandoned the body and fled.
All three individuals were tracked down and arrested in their homes in Agavedzi, Agbozume, and Adina and are being held in custody as the investigation continues.
The body has subsequently been lodged in the mortuary of the Ketu South Municipal Hospital, where it will be autopsied.
