It has been exactly 15 years since Ghana experienced the eclipse of the sun on 29th March 2006 which got people so curious to want to witness what was going on in the solar system.

This moment which lasted for about 3minutes was historical in the sense that it was characterized by lots of education and sensitization from the Ghana Meteorological Agency and other stakeholders before its occurrence on the said day.

A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the earth and the sun thereby totally or partially obscuring the image of the sun from a viewer on earth. I guess you have stopped wondering now?

Ghanaians were curious, excited and in awe when this happened especially in Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern and Central Regions who experienced total eclipse whereas other regions experienced a partial eclipse.

What made the moment exciting was the fact that, Although Ghana experienced it some centuries back this was the first time in modern day Ghana. That such a rare experience is coming again hence, such anticipation and excitement.
