Prof Stephen Kwaku Asare

Legal reforms activist Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare popularly known as Kwaku Azar has called out the president of the Ghana Bar Association questioning why he as a member of the GLC would be fixated on preventing others from being called to the bar.

He noted the GBA president was called to the bar after a 3-months post-call course at a cost of  only £200. But currently insisting others spend 1-year on the same post-call and pay £6,000.

The legal luminary concluded in his Facebook post that “we must stop wasting our youth and it must start with showing them a small Atiwa at the Ghana School of Law”.

I have no problem with the GBA President being called to the Bar after doing a 3 months post-call course that cost only £200.

My problem is why he, as a GLC member, wants others to spend 1-year on the same post-call and pay £6,000.

Those who had such an easy access to the Ghana Bar should not erect barriers to that same Bar.

We must stop wasting our youth and it must start with showing them a small Atiwa at the Ghana School of Law.

#SALL is the cardinal sin of the 8th Parliament.
