The Nurse Educators Group lecturers who were on strike to demand better conditions of service have resumed work after reaching a concussion with the government on the issue.

The group stopped rendering some services such as marking of scripts and project works to draw governments’ attention to act on issues regarding their allowance and conditions of service.

“We wish to inform our general membership and the general public that our intended road map to a strike has been suspended indefinitely with immediate effect following an amicable resolution of the issues in an emergency meeting with the Ministry of Health, GRNMA and COHHETI,” a statement released the group said.

The fight for a review of their allowance commenced on August 11, 2022, after its annual general meeting was held in Sunyani where they appealed to the Health Ministry to review the allowance and remuneration of their members.

Areas according to them they want to be reviewed are; care study practical assessments, scrip marking labour and ward assessments among others.

The group also called for the scrapping of 30% admission reservation for the Health Ministry, the 35% of proceeds of the interview normally given to the Ministry to be halted, and the school to directly sell admission forms to prospective students.

As the group ended their industrial action they indicated that will like still dialogue with the government to address other pertinent issues as well.
