Nikita Dragun, a transgender influencer sent to a male prison after her arrest
YouTuber and transgender influencer Nikita Dragun has been sent to a men’s prison unit following her arrest on Mondy for assaulting a police officer, her publicist has revealed.
Jack Ketsoyan of Full Scope Public Relations, publicist for Nikata Dragun said in a statement said “The situation with Nikita, who is legally female, being placed in a men’s unit of a Florida jail is extremely disturbing and dangerous”.
“This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department directly violates their protocol, which mandates that transgender inmates are classified and housed based on safety needs and gender identity. Nikita has been released and is now safe. Thank you for respecting her privacy during this time.
Nikita Dragun, a social media influencer was arrested on Monday at the Goodtime Hotel, Miami Beach for throwing water in the face of a police officer after causing a commotion.
According to TMZ, the transgender influencer was arrested on a felony charge of battery on a police officer. Cops say security reported that they asked Nikita who was walking naked around the hotel’s pool earlier and later was causing disturbances in her room to stop but she ignored them all.
When the security called the police and they also knocked on the door, she opened the door and asked “Do you want more?” She then swung a water bottle that was opened and causing the water to spill on the faces of the security and the police officer which led to her arrest.
She was booked for felony battery on a police officer, misdemeanour disorderly conduct and misdemeanour battery at the Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre on a $5,000 bond.
