Nigerian singer Teni nearly kidnapped on stage
A video trending on social media has revealed an alleged attempted kidnap of Nigerian female superstar Teni while she performed on stage.
Teniola Apata, known by her stage name Teni was performing in the Buguma area of Rivers State to a packed crowd who were enchanted by her performance until she had to abruptly disappear from the stage as she run for her life following what is alleged to be an attempted kidnap.
The singer disappeared from the stage with her bodyguards closely trailing her. Other people are then seen in the video strolling the stage as sounds gunshots rifled through the noise in the packed crowd.
Details are still scanty and we are not able to ascertain if there were lives lost but reports say some people were sent to the clinic due to the stampede that resulted from the incident.
Others are debunking the assertion that it was an attempted kidnap, rather assuming it as a fight probably between rival cults. That aside, whatever it was, it marred the evening for the many fans who turned out to patronize the event and would have left a dark mark on the memories of many who may never wish to go for such an event again.
There has not been any comment yet, from the singer or her management regarding the incident.
