Gloria Akpene Nyarku, better known as MzGee, has been named the TV entertainment Presenter of the Year at the 2020/21 Radio and Television Personality Awards held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

Despite being nominated multiple times in the previous years, she won her first and had to beat other female industry heavyweights such as UTV’s Nana Ama Mcbrown and GhONE’s Regina Van Helvert to win her first RTP award.

MzGee praised everyone who helped her advance in her profession in her acceptance speech, highlighting the media organizations for whom she has worked her entire life:

“Today God has shown his face finally I get to hold this(clutching the award). I am soo grateful to every media house that has given me their platform, all the way from Eagle FM in Cape Coast to Oceans TV here, Hitz FM, JoyNews, the multimedia platforms. It  was a beautiful time with you, enough space and I am sure that is what got me this.”

MzGee further reiterated it was a “new beginning” adding, “God is about to do great things” in her life.

Her award comes after a stellar performance as the event’s Red Carpet host.

Many more were recognized on the night, including Okay FM’s Abeiku Santana, who was named Overall Radio and Television Personality of the Year!

Nana Ama Mcbrown, Agya Kwabena, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Afia Panamang, and others were among the winners.
