Emmanuel Nkansah Ansong, known as Lekzy DeComic, a Ghanaian standup comedian, has asked to be elected President of Ghana, promising to implement constructive reforms in just one day to aid the country’s development.

The comedian revealed steps he would put in place if elected president in an interview with Showbiz 360. Lekzy DeComic’s strategies primarily targeted street children and the country’s security agencies.

The plight of street children, according to the Comedian, is a national concern. He pointed out that it does not portray the country in a positive light to the rest of the world.

Lekzy DeComic urged the Department of Social Welfare and Development to take their responsibility seriously, as it has been tasked and resourced to remove these children from the streets. However, very little, if anything, has been done to achieve this goal.

He said “I wish I could be a president of Ghana for a day and change the narrative of children struggling on the streets. It is the responsibility of the social welfare to take all kids begging on the streets because it is sad how you see them on the streets begging for money during school-going hours.”

He recommends more discipline and conformity in the country. And, in order to do so, Lekzy said he would make security forces more visible around the country. He explained that this will promote adherence to the country’s established laws and regulations, eventually leading to the cessation of aberrant behavior.

Lekzy also decried the lack of discipline among public transportation drivers in the country, which adds to road accidents, according to statistics.

“Indiscipline among drivers is becoming a norm. Now, the right thing in the system doesn’t sound right anymore because most people adhere to negative ways of doing things.

“If the laws are working, some of these deviant behaviours will be addressed, and people who do wrong will be held accountable for their actions,” he added.

The comedian, who has been in the comedy scene for eight years, claimed that he took use of social media during the Covid-19 time, and people began to appreciate his craft.

He claimed that he uses radio and television to broaden the audience for his comedic material and that gave his career a significant boost adding that he is happy with where he has progressed in his profession.
