The chairman of the Tobinco group of companies, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin has said, the collapse of most companies are not the doing of the owners of the company.

He stated that “most companies in Ghana are failing to succeed due to the attitude of selfish and greedy managers”.

According to him, Chief Executive officers (CEOs) cannot do the work alone, that is why they appoint managers and employ staff to oversee the day-to-day running of the companies.

He added, “in this part of the world, it has become difficult to employ because some managers are not truthful, some plan with the staff to dupe and collapse very successful companies”.

“Some managers are not truthful to the extent that they plan with other greedy staff to dupe and bring down the company,” he said.

Speaking in an interview with the host of ‘Ghana Nie’, Ekourba Gyasi, on Thursday, November 4, 2021, Mr Tobbin reiterated that, “no matter how much you pay some managers because they are selfish and greedy, they want to be like the owners of the companies in the shortest possible time after placing them to manage the business”.

“Some staff who have been assigned to manage companies want to secure their future and be like the owners of the companies in the shortest possible time,” he narrated.

The show host, Ekourba Gyasi asked how he deals with greedy managers and Mr Tobbin explained that it takes the Grace of God for a person like him to be a successful businessman in Ghana, and aside from the Grace of God, he takes firmness, intense auditing and strict supervisory role to manage the business.

“It takes theĀ Grace of God for a person like me to be a successful businessman in Ghana,” he emphasized.
