Super Stars Faces Falcon Stars In Chiana As League Enters Penultimate Week

The Kasena Nankana West District Division 3 Preseason tournament is gathering special momentum as it enters its penultimate week. The four team tournament which has Paga’s Afeni FC, Nakolo’s Buru United FC, Falcon Stars from Chiana and Super Stars of Sirigu has been nothing less of excitement since match day 1.

The opening week saw both matches ending in draws as Buru United were held at home by Super Stars after each conceding a solitary goal at the end 90 minutes. Falcon Stars and Afeni FC took it a step further goal-wise with no difference in points as they each plundered in two goals at the Gwenia Park. That was followed by stalemate between Super Stars and Falcon Stars at Super Stars’ famous ‘Kaduna Park’ in week 2. Afeni FC however got the better of their cross town neighbours Buru United FC courtesy a 1-0 victory to top the table with 4 points.

The third round of matches saw the difference as Falcon stars lost at home by a lone goal to Buru United and Super Stars playing at home, blew 3 past Afeni FC to top the table in week 3. The reverse fixtures came with Super Stars repeating the trick against Afeni FC away at the dreaded Paga Town Park where their best results till then were draws. Their performance earned Alex Nyame of Super Stars the Man of The Match award. Buru United however could not maintain their winning form as the settled for a point after a 1-1 draw against Falcon Stars.

The results leave Super Stars at the summit of the table with 8 points and 7 goals scored whilst conceding one in the process. Buru United follow closely with 5 points, a point ahead of Afeni FC and 2 better than Falcon Stars who occupy the bottom spot. Can the Stars maintain their unbeaten form as they take on Falcon Stars who who need a win if they’re to end in a good position at the end of the season? It is all up for grabs for Buru United at home against neighbours Afeni FC at the Nakolo Catholic Park as both sides will seek to topple Super Stars at the summit praying other results favour them.
