Inter Allies poor season broke into pieces on the final day in a match that will live long in their memories and one which they would want to forget as soon as possible. A hat-trick from Opoku Agyemang and a brace each from Amos Addai and opposition defender Hashmin Musah gave the Miners the comprehensive victory.

Having already being relegated with a couple of matches to end the season, the Eleven is to One were playing what would be their final match in the Ghana Premier League until when next they will secure a return to the top division. And what was supposed to be a good farewell with positive memories for them ended up being a bad one of their worst days in football if no the worst.

The Miners who have gone from potent title challengers to mid-table battlers were in their top elements against the relegated side. And they showed their intent with a hat-trick of goals in the first half. Opoku Agyemang opened the scoring for the Obuasi side with a quarter of an hour played. Amos Addai made it 2-0 in the 26th minute before Opoku added to his personal tally with another in the 43rd minute.

As if the three goals were not enough, the Miners went searching for more as if they needed the goals to survive relegation or win the title. Amos Addai matched Opoku’s tally by also scoring his second of the day to make it 4-0 four minutes after the break. Opoku Agyemang then completed his hat-trick with a goal in the 78th minute to mark a remarkable day in office.

Inter Allies then took over the scoring from this end but instead directed both goals they scored into their own net. Defender Hashmin Musah turned two into his own net in the space of three minutes to complete the scoring for the Miners who run out with a 7-0 win.
