Race for Ballon d’Or heating up as Paris gets ready to host famous football stars
The 2021 Ballon d’Or is set to return after a year break due to the covid-19 pandemic, with world football biggest stars set to descend on Paris in November.
Lionel Messi is looking to claim his seventh award, while long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo is also in for a sixth.
As the world evolves, a new set of talented football players emerges to contest for the prestigious award. Robert Lewandowski, Jorginho and N’golo Kante will be hoping to win their first-ever Ballon d’Or.

This year’s Ballon d’Or is set to take place on Monday, November 29, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris – the same venue that was used for the 2019 awards. on Friday, October 8, the 30 nominees for both male and female will be released.
The Yashin Trophy, given to the best goalkeeper of the year, as well as the Kopa Trophy for the best Under-21 player, were kept secret last time out and we are expecting the same this year.

In this year’s Ballon d’Or, there are a few standout contenders. Lionel Messi finally led Argentina to Copa America glory. Champions League winners N’Golo Kante and Jorginho – the latter who also won the Euros and the ultimate goal machine, Robert Lewandowski is also in for the prestigious award.
