Otto Addo drops Ati-Zigi for Manaf in Black Stars XI against Chile
Black Stars coach Otto Addo has ditched FC St. Gallen shot-stopper Lawrence Ati-Zigi for KAS Eupen’s guardsman Abdul Manaf Nurudeen in the third-place playoff against Chile in the Kirin Cup.
The reshuffle in the post is part of five changes the coach made for the match. Alidu Siedu of Clermont Foot will play at the right lateral defence with Baba Rahman at the left lateral, sandwiching Daniel Amartey and Edmund Addo in a back four.
A midfield trio of Andre Ayew, Kudus Mohammed and Wakaso Mubarak is expected to control the game from the centre of the park and serve as the link between the back four and the attacking triumvirate of Felix Afena Gyan and Abdul Fatau Issahaku at the wings and Benjamin Tetteh leading from the middle.
The Black Stars suffered a 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Japan last week and would want to redeem their image with a decent performance against the South Americans as they prepare for Qatar 2022.
Andy Yiadom, Dennis Nkrumah-Korsah, Christopher Antwi-Adjei and goalscorer against Japan, Jordan Ayew are the four others to join Ati-Zigi on the bench.
