King Faisal versus Kotoko headline MTN FA Cup round of 64 fixtures, full draw here
The long-awaited MTN FA Cup Round of 64 pairings has just been conducted with two in-form sides paired against each other as Kotoko face city rivals King Faisal in the biggest game of the round.
King Faisal and Kotoko are leading the pack at the summit of the Ghana Premier League table after seven rounds of games into the season and recently met in the league. King Faisal won the thrilling contest 3-2 to end Kotoko’s recent dominance over them.
The match which is considered a super clash will present Kotoko with the opportunity to avenge the defeat while King Faisal hopes to secure another memorable victory over the sworn rivals is also inline. Another win for the Inshah Allah boys over the Porcupine Warrior would dent the latter’s early-season title chase credentials.
The draw also saw defending champions Hearts of Oak begin their defence of the trophy at home against top-flight newcomers Accra Lions.
In the Western corridor, there shall also be a vital derby between Karela United and Medeama as the two sides will face off in the round of 64. Meanwhile, there are also two Tamale derbies as division one side Dreams Tamale will take on premier league returnees Real Tamale United and Tamale City taking on Steadfast.
In the Upper East region, Bolga All Stars will square off against Bolga FC in a regional derby with another derby across the region’s western borders as Wa Sombo Free Stars take on Wa Suntaa.
Another of the all premier league clashes would pitch Aduana Stars against Eleven Wonders. Former champions, Nania FC will play against Liberty Professionals whereas former premier league sides Swedru All Blacks and Ebusua Dwarfs will face off in one of Central regions derby.
