King Faisal edge out Ebusua Dwarfs 2-0 in relegation fight

King Faisal players celebrate a goal

Kumasi King Faisal saw off Ebusua Dwarfs 2-0 in their replayed week 33 fixture at the Ohene Ameyew Park. The clash which was initially scheduled for Saturday had to be replayed early on Sunday following heavy rains that caused the playing surface to be flooded thus making it impossible to continue with the match.

The Inshallah Boys took advantage of the reschedule to add to the woes of their opponents who are also in the fight against relegation. Both sides were separated by just a point ahead of this week’s encounter with the Dwarfs lying ahead of King Faisal.

However, two second-half goals from Zubairu Ibrahim ensured his side now have a better chance of escaping relegation from the top tier. The first of the two goals came in the 52nd minute and the next soon followed to take the Dwarfs out of the game in the 62nd minute.

The win lifts King Faisal above Dwarfs by a margin of two points. King Faisal new-found form has perhaps come at the right time and it could be their saving act and they could secure safety even ahead of the last much depending on results from other centres today.
