Jojo Wollacot and Issahaku start for Black Stars against Zimbabwe
Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac has handed places in his starting XI for Swindon Town FC goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot and Steadfast attacker Issahaku Fatawu for the world cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Also in the starting lineup are injury returnees Kudus of Ajax and Thomas Teye Partey of Arsenal FC. The duo missed the Black Stars’ last match against South Africa as well as the first game against Ethiopia. Daniel Amartey who was injured during the first match has returned to play at the right-back position at the expense of Reading FC right-back Andy Yiadom.
Jonathan Mensah and Alexander Djiku will partner with each other at the centre of the defence and supported at the flanks by Baba Rahman to the left and Amartey to the right.
Kudus Mohammed and Andre Ayew will play handle the middle of the park just behind Issahaku Mohammed and Rennes’ Kamaldeen Suleyman who will support lone striker Jordan Ayew.
Starting XI: Jojo Wollacott, Daniel Amartey, Jonathan Mensah, Alexander Djiku, Baba Rahman, Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Issahaku Fatawu, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Jordan Ayew.
Ghana will need a win to keep pace with South Africa who had beaten Ethiopia 1-3 earlier in the other group game.
