Hearts of Oak submit squad for champions league campaign, Afutu excluded
Benjamin Afutu and Dominic Eshun miss out on Hearts of Oak squad to play in Africa
Reigning Ghana Premier League and FA Cup champions, Hearts of Oak have named a 30-man squad that it will use in next season’s CAF Champions League. The list which the Phobians released today includes four goalkeepers, nine defenders, eight midfielders and nine forwards.
New recruits, Gladson Awako, Enock Asubonteng and Agyenim Boateng have all been included in the list to represent the club in Africa. Some notable names are missing and prominent among them is Benjamin Afutu who is rumoured to have declined an offer to extend his deal with the club as he seeks a move away from the Rainbow club.
Also excluded from the list are midfielder Umar Manaf Gumah, Dominic Eshun and Abednego Tetteh. The Phobians will begin their campaign in the second week of September with a trip to Guinea to face Club Industriel de Kamsar.
