Government to limit the number of supporters going to Cameroon to support the Black Stars
The Presidential advisor on Health, Dr. Nsiah Asare has revealed that the government will limit the number of fans that will travel to Cameroon to support the Black Stars during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
He said the move is due to Covid-19 restrictions by CAF which Ghana will only try to adhere to. On Previous tournaments, the government often sponsored a team of supporters to go and support the Black Stars and more often than not a lot of controversies do arise. It is not clear as of yet if the government will fully fund supporters to Cameroon to support the team or not but we are sure fans will go and in limited numbers.
Ghana will begin the campaign to win her fifth trophy with a match against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Monday, January 10.
The Black Stars will then take on Gabon on Friday before wrapping up the group campaign against Comoros on Tuesday, January 18.
Ghana will hope to go a step beyond their last performance in the tournament where they were eliminated by Tunisia in the Round of 16 via penalties. The Black Stars wait for the coveted trophy is in its 40th year and all hope of continental glory will be on the team to at least show intent and get to the final four if even the trophy will elude them again, having come close on a number of occasions in recent years.
