GFA suspends betPawa Premier League following a court injunction by Ashantigold

The Ghana Football Association has announced the suspension of the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League week four matches following a court injunction secured by former Premier League club Obuasi Ashantigold SC.

Ashantigold SC secured an injunction against the GFA and the Motion on Notice for Injunction was filed yesterday, Wednesday, September 28 at the Human Rights High Court and served the GFA lawyers, prompting the decision to put the league on hold.

The league which was scheduled to enter week four this weekend has thus been suspended by the Ghana Football Association until the determination o the Motion on Notice for Injunction on October 14, 2022 by the court.

Accordingly, the GFA has communicated the development to its sponsors, partners and all the clubs and has urged all stakeholders including the players, clubs, sponsors and partners to exercise restraints while it tries to sort out the issue in court.
