Diawisie Taylor’s double ensured Karela United came from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Cosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park on Saturday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League matchday 17 clash.
The win puts the Anyinase-based side, who has 31 points, four points clear at the top of the table as Great Olympics and the other teams play their week 17 games tomorrow.
Bright Adjei opened the scoring for the Fire boys seven minutes into the game. Diawisie Taylor with his 11th goal of the season on the 42nd minute put the Pride and Passion lads level on the break.
It looked like it was heading for a stalemate, but Taylor headed home in the 91st minute to pick all three points for Karela United at the CAM Park.
It’s his 10th of the season, two above Joseph Esso in the goal chart.
The victory means Karela United will finish the first round of the season on top of the table. They have won eight of their nine home games in the first round.
