Cucurella nears Chelsea switch, waiting for Brighton and Chelsea agreement
Marc Cucurella has reached full agreement on personal terms with Chelsea for his proposed move to the club. He is accordingly waiting for the results of the discussions between Chesle and Brighton to seal the deal.
Thomas Tuchel believes Cucurella is a tremendous prospect and is hoping he will soon join Chelsea as he tries to build a squad capable of competing for honours.
Chelsea and Brighton continue to have direct talks again today in order to complete the deal with Manchester City who initially submitted a £40 million bid for the player reportedly walking away from the deal.
Brighton did not want to sell the 24-year-old who still has four years on his contract but would accept a good offer. The Seagulls are believed to be holding on for more and the Blues have offered £50m for the Spaniard who won player of the year and players’ player of the season at the club last season.
Levi Colwill was said to have been included in the discussions for the deal but according to Fabrizio Romano, that could be discussed separately to speed up the negotiations for Cucurella.
