Chelsea draws LOSC Lille again
In what has been a rare blip in Champions League history where a redraw had to be done following an earlier mistake, Chelsea’s opponent from the first and annulled draw remained unchanged with the Blues taking on their French counterparts again for the next round as was the case earlier today in the first draw.
Aside from the Chelsea draw, all other results have changed with the biggest clash that was made from the initial draw now taken away from Manchester United and PSG to pit the French giants against a Spanish side and record winners Real Madrid. There would still be drama in that match with Sergio Ramos set to make a return to the Santiago Bernabeu where he is a legend and led the club to multiple titles in the past.
Bayern Munich will now take on Austrian side Salzburg while Liverpool will travel again to the San Siro to take on Inter Milan in the first leg. Manchester United will now also face another strong opposition in Atletico Madrid but the Rojiblancos would be warry of the threat of Christiano Ronaldo, one man who has tormented them in the competition’s history than any other individual.
Villarreal will host Italian side Juventus in the first leg before travelling to Turin to take on the Old Lady. Manchester City will play away to Sporting CP of Portugal in the first leg before rounding it up against the Portuguese side at home in the Etihad Stadium. Benfica and Ajax will square off in a race to advance past the Round of 16 with Benfica hosting the first leg at home before concluding the round with a trip to Portugal.
