Experienced referees Latif Adaari and Selorm Bless to handle FA Cup semi-final fixtures
The Referees Committee of the Ghana Football Association has named top referees Abdul Latif Adaari and Selorm Yaw Bless as centre referees for the semi-final matches of the MTN FA Cup at Cape Coast.
Wa-based Abdul Latif Adaari will handle the Ashanti Gold versus Bereku Chelsea match at the Cape Coast Sports stadium on August 1. The experienced FIFA referee will be assisted on the lines by Upper West-based Class 1 referee Augustine Soglo Dakura and Ato Yawson, an Accra-based Class 1 referee.
They will be expected to control the game between former champions Ashanti Gold and Berekum Chelsea who are chasing their first FA Cup title after dispatching nine-time winners Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the previous round.
The second match of the day which will be played at 6 pm at the same venue will be a topliner as record 10-times winners and current league champions Accra Hearts of Oak seek to affirm their claim as masters of the competition against two-time winners Medeama Sporting Club.
Peki-based Selorm Yao Bless is the man tasked to handle the fierce encounter between the two sides who will be playing not just for the slot to go to the final but to prove something else. He would be assisted by Paul Atimaka and Stephen Balenguena.
Winners of both contests will meet at the final. Ashanti Gold versus Chelsea will start at 3 pm and the Hearts of Oak – Medeama follows at 6 pm, both at the Cape Coast Stadium.
