17 AFCON debutants in Ghana’s 28-man squad
Ghana’s 28-man squad for the 2021 African Cup of Nations includes 17 players who will be taking in their first taste of the continental competition. The blend of youth and experience in the squad gives the Black Stars dynamism as they blend experience with a raw hunger for glory.
Included in the list of debutants are five home-based players led by Real Tamale United’s David Sandan Abagna and Accra Great Olympics’ Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye. The rest of the local contingent is Dreams FC duo of Fatawu Issahaku and Philemon Baffour and the quintet is completed by Accra Hearts of Oak shot-stopper Richard Attah.
A number of the debutants including David Abagna, Richard Attah, Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Khalid Abdul Mumin are yet to make a bow for the Black Stars.
