Who in his right senses chooses training in Microsoft Office over LMS? Edem chides Hon. Adutwum
Eric Edem Agbana, the maverick deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has chided the Minister of Education, Hon. Adutwum over the alleged GALOP scandal.
Mr Agbana states that upon presentation of documents to the World Bank, the organization questioned the Ministry of Education why the project the Ministry was seeking funding will not be training in “distance learning methods (I.e the use of LMS, other digital learning mediums) but instead in basic computer command, Microsoft Office Suite and basic internet commands”.
However, the Ministry insisted and backed it up with inconceivable ideas considering the advancement of Information Technology in this era.
“In the response, MOE said they did a new needs assessment and realized that was what the teachers needed. Who in his right frame of mind chooses training in Microsoft Office suite over Training in LMS, Crisis management, etc?
“I’m completely scandalized by the attempts to cover this fraud,” he concluded in his Facebook post.

Still on the #GALOP scandal involving the Education Minister, Hon Adutwum,
Further documents reveal that in the proposal submitted to the world bank, the MOE stated that they wanted to use funds to enhance practical distance learning options.
However, upon submission of the report to World bank, world bank raised questions on why the training was not in distance learning methods (I.e the use of LMS, other digital learning mediums) but instead in basic computer command, Microsoft Office Suite and basic internet commands. In the response, MOE said they did a new needs assessment and realized that was what the teachers needed.
