Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, the NDC’s Bono Regional Youth Organizer, has stated that research undertaken by various entities other than the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has also indicated that John Dramani Mahama will win the 2024 general elections for the NDC.

He further stated that the EIU report on the fortunes of Mr Mahama “is a Research work and not a final authority of what will happen in 2024. The largest opposition party in Ghana also reiterated that “we have also done series research works and know the outcome, others like Solidare Gh also conducted similar research and the outcome was for John Dramani Mahama, all polls conducted in Ghana and other international bodies pointed to John Dramani Mahama thus why we will remain focus, correct whatever mistakes we did in the past and give victory to the people of Ghana with John Dramani Mahama as our Flag-bearer and next President of the Republic”.

In deflating the significance of the EIU survey outcome Mr Tsekpo said “I remember the Economist Intelligencece Unit predicted a massive win for Hillary Clinton but she lost to Donald Trump. This is because Donald Trump had to work for his victory instead of being broken by the research outcomes. NDC knows the battle ahead and is prepared to climb every hill to reach the peak of the mountain.”

According to the EIU report released on April 13, 2022, the survey outcome is predicting “…a transfer of power to the NDC in the 2024 elections, driven by anti-incumbency factors and public dissatisfaction with the current government.

“However, irrespective of who retains power, we expect policy continuity in the medium term, with a focus on improving food security, industrialisation and economic diversification. The new government will face similar challenges to its predecessor, but overall political stability will prevail,” the EIU report stated
