Regional executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Upper West has decided to boycott the visit of President Akufo-Addo to the region. President Akufo-Addo will tour the region beginning on Monday 22nd August 2022.
The committee revealed that its decision was triggered by a feud that ensued between it and the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin-Salih over an alleged plan to side line them in preparation for the arrival of the president in the region.
Meanwhile, there has been confirmation from the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council and the New Patriotic Party over the planned visit of the President slated for 22nd August 2022.
Apart from familiarizing himself with the Chiefs and people of the region, the president will also seize the opportunity to commission government projects while inspecting ones that are yet to be finalized.
Though this is to herald a happy moment for the region as the first gentleman of the land is about to set foot there, unfortunately, a feud has rather sparked between the regional minister and regional executive of the NPP in the region with the committee now threatening to absent itself from all activities that would be organized in line with the president’s visit.
The disgruntled executives made up of regional executives and constituency chairmen laid bare their concerns to the press on Wednesday 17th Aug 2022.
