Use the right channel to express your grievances – Fomena NPP youth advised
Angry members of the New Patriotic Party in the Fomena Constituency have been advised by the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the party Francis Adomako to express the grievance using proper channels.
“The party has structures. Make sure you exhaust the party structures if you feel you are being cheated in one way or the other,” he said
His advice is linked to the current situation brewing within the Fomena constituency NPP where the aggrieved members protested against the party over alleged preferential treatment to persons claimed to be linked with the independent legislator for the area Andrew Amoako Asiamah.
The members are threatening to defect to the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress.
They complained that the leadership of the party in the constituency are doing everything possible to aid people linked to the independent Member of Parliament as against those believed to be from other camps in the ongoing polling station elections.
Mr Adomako said to them, “write a petition to [the NPP’s] regional executive committee so that they will sit down on this and make sure your grievances are met.”
He also promised that the petition would be given a due hearing.
Members of the party can be seen in a video circulating on social media painting the party constituency office with the colours of the NDC as they express their anger in protest of the unfair treatment.
“We’ll make sure we sit on it and make sure every grievance that has been brought on board will surely be addressed.”
Initially, Mr Asiamah was the NPP legislator for the Fomena constituency from January 2017 until his seat was declared vacant ahead of the 2020 election after he filed to contest the election as an independent candidate.
