Time and reality have combined to disgrace Bawumia – Felix Kwakye Ofosu
A former deputy Communications and Information minister, Felix KwakyeOfosu has passed a verdict over the performance of the Head of the Economic Management Team, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stating that time and reality have combined to disgrace and humiliate the vice president.
“Who would have thought that after Bawumia’s haughty and conceited attacks on the NDC government over the management of the economy, he would so horribly mismanage the economy and see the exchange rate plummet to an extent where $1 is equivalent to GHS10?” He questioned.
International economic rating agencies, Moody’s, Fitch, and Standard and Poor’s have all recently downgraded the Ghanaian economy with Standard and Poor’s the latest and downgraded the economy from B-/B to CCC+/C with a negative outlook. The Ghana Cedi is the worst performing currency in the world after the Sri Lanka Rupee. Inflation which stands at 32% is estimated to get to 41% in September. Debt to GDP also stands at 85%.
With all the negative outlook of the Ghanaian economy, spearheaded by the then-tagged Economy wizard Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, the former deputy minister said that the wizardry of the economy has economized the economic wizard.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu reiterated that the woes of the economy are solely due to mismanagement and not external factors as the government keeps propagating to Ghanaians that the worst economic outlook is due to the Russia-Ukraine war and Covid-19.
