Ricketts-Hagan wants Cape Coast MCE election annulled
The Member of Parliament for the Cape Coast South constituency Kweku Rickets Hagan is calling for the annulment of the results that confirmed the nomination of the Municipal Chief Executive of Cape Coast Eric Arthur.
According to the legislator, the confirmation of Mr Eric Arthur as Municipal Chief Executive is an insult to the Cape Coast municipality and accused those in charge of not showing a letter to the effect that Mr Eric Arthur had been re-nominated for the position of Municipal Chief Executive for Cape Coast.
Angry Mr Rickettes Hagan during a press briefing further cast aspersions at those in charge at the assembly saying “Because President Akufo-Addo is coming on a tour to Cape Coast they want to get Mr Eric Arthur elected by hook or crook”.
Mr Eric Arthur had previously lost two elections with some of the Assembly Members returning some gifts they claim he gave to them but they resolved they were not going to let that influence their decision on this election.
Also, Mr Kweku Rickettes Hagan was accused of allegedly being the brain behind the constant rejection of the President’s nominee for MCE of Cape Coast Mr Eric Arthur as he was accused of giving some of the assembly members some dollars to reject Mr Eric Arthur as he failed to poll two-thirds of the majority to confirm his re-nomination.
The rivalry between Mr Kweku Rickets Hagan and Mr Eric Arthur did not start today as Mr Arthur popularly known as Mayor One has previously challenged Mr Rickettes Hagan in the Parliamentary polls.
