No presidential ambition, I am just doing my work – Napo
Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has indicated that he is ready to serve in any capacity the President deems fit.
Quizzed on whether he was nursing the ambition of becoming a running mate especially to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should he [Dr.Bawumia] become the flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, he said within the rank and file of the NPP he does not have the power to choose a running mate.
The former Education Minister also clarified that he was not part of any presidential bid within the party adding, “The electorates are watching and let me say this, I am not part of any presidential bid. I am not part because I have never seen anybody bid for Vice President”.
This was in response to pictures of him that flooded the venue of the recently held NPP Ashanti Regional delegates conference in Kumasi.
In response to this issue, he said that “All I have to do is to do my work well.”
