Former President, John Dramani Mahama has been accused of bias after he was quick to condemn the actions of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Tema West, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah captured in a video snatching ballot papers and attempting to bolt with them during the selection of a Speaker of Parliament.
“You condemned Carlos Ahenkorah while your boys John Jinapor, Muntaka and other NDC MP were also disrupting the process. Mahama is bias and selective person”, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) lawmaker for Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko fumed when he spoke to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
According to him, the former President will earn more respect should he have also condemned the unparliamentarily behavior of the NDC lawmakers in the august House after calling for investigations into the action of Carlos Ahenkorah
The first time MP therefore blamed NDC lawmakers accusing them of causing every confusion that characterized the election of Speaker of Parliament on Thursday dawn.
“The NDC wanted to destroy everything on the that D-Day so they tried to delay the voting process of the Speaker so that it will affect the inaugural ceremony of the President”, the soft-spoken MP told host, Nana Yaw Mensah Joel during a One-on-One interview
Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah has been in the news for a wrong reason after he was captured in a video snatching ballot papers and attempting to bolt with them during the selection of a Speaker of Parliament.
The Tema West MP who became the ‘man of the match’ during the election of a Speaker of Parliament on Thursday, January 7, 2021, in a press statement however apologized especially to his family and friends who have been affected by his actions.
“I did it for the grassroots who relied on us in power to survive, the president who needs some peace to run the country, and the greater NPP party as a whole because we cannot always allow the NDC to threaten and vilify us. I apologize though to my family and friends both far and near who may be affected by my actions.” He begged.
