Mahama and NDC must protest against EC – Bernard Oduro Takyi
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Oduro Takyi has called on former president John Dramani Mahama, Dr Kwabena Duffuor and the leadership of the NDC to hit the streets against the Electoral Commission for proposing to use only the Ghana Card as the primary source document for registration of voters.
The Electoral Commission has recently proposed to use only the Ghana Card for registration of voters who turn 18 years and also open the register for validation of already registered voters.
The decision has since been met with objections from the NDC and other well meaning Ghanaians who criticize the decision to use the Ghana Card only as the source document, arguing that it could lead to several people been disenfranchised.
Mr Oduro Takyi believes that there is conspiracy by the Electoral Commission to disenfranchise people in the strongholds of the opposition NDC hence the decision to use only Ghana card.
Speaking on TV XYZ on 10th August, he revealed that if the NDC is going to repeat what happened in the 2020 elections and be cowered to think they will win elections 2024 then, it’s over for them.
