Ras Mubarak former Member of Parliament for Kubungu has said that if the former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama decides to contest the 2024 elections, it will be good for the party and brighten its chances at coming back to government.
According to him, no flagbearer since 1992 has been able to win elections in the country without him been marketed to the people of Ghana.
He noted that in Ghana, face and name recognition play key roles when it comes to elections and plays key roles hence the need for someone whose face and name resonates with the people.
“Name and face plays a key role in our politics and there will be people who will go and vote for someone whose face and name they know.”
He indicated that in the NDC, former President John Dramani Mahama is well marketed and has the a very good track record.
“Track his Record on corruption as compared to what is happening. Look at how they took Domelevo out, very painful and it doesn’t help in our governance system. When Obama came here, he said we should strengthen our institutions.”
On the leadership of the NDC in Parliament he insisted that there is the need for a change in the front bench because like a football team, if you do not get the results you get, you make changes.
