I’ve not sponsored any candidate against you – Gabby Otchere Darko replies Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
Claims made by Majority leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu against a leading member of the New Patriotic Party Gabby Asare Otchere Darko of inciting members of his caucus to push for the removal of the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been debunked by Mr Otchere Darko.
Mr Otchere Darko has also in a Facebook post denied accusations of Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu of attempts to remove him as the Member of Parliament for Suame saying “I have said no such thing on Asaase Radio or any other radio station or media house, whether on-air, online, or in print, either directly or indirectly. Indeed, my position, so far, on this issue in Parliament within the Majority Caucus, has been to deliberately stay away from commenting on it publicly”.
“I have never sponsored any candidate against the Majority Leader for the Suame seat. I would never do such a thing to a person I considered a strong loyalist, even within the NPP,” he posted.
The back-and-forth accusations between the two leading NPP members stem from demands that Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta be sacked as Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu feels Mr Otchere Darko is accusing him of being the mastermind behind that.
Also, it is alleged that the candidate that surfaced to challenge the Majority leader was sponsored by Mr Otchere Darko in the lead-up to the 2016 polls.
But Mr Otchere Darko has on the hand debunked these claims when the issue came up during a discussion on Asaase radio.
