Government has not been honest with Ghanaians – Ivan Kyei Innocent
The hardship in Ghana keeps rising each and every single day and this has kept the ordinary Ghanaians complaining every single moment but some government leaders do not seem to feel the same hardship that most Ghanaians complain about.
The lifestyle of government officials does not depict the fact that the economy is hard. And that kind of luxury often displayed by appointees of the government has led organized labour to reject the government’s assertions that the economy is in shambles and cannot be able to contain their demands.
During an interview with Agyenim Boateng on the Active Morning Show on Thursday, social commentator Ivan Kyei Innocent said the government has not been honest to the people of Ghanaians.
He said, the government keeps complaining about the hardship and desperation in the economy but does not live a life which will make the ordinary Ghanaians to be convinced that truly there’s an economic hardship. According to him, the government keeps on living a lavish lifestyle, which is pushing the labour unions to give the government a deaf ear on their decision to embark on an industrial action to demand a cost of living allowance.
To him, an honest attitude from the government would have been appealing enough to allow organized labour to empathize with it and probably tone down on its demand for the cost of living allowance or other benefits
